At WaMI, we want to try to capture and preserve knowledge and data that we gather as we pursue our goals. We also want to avoid our knowledge becoming lost through changes in our website, organization, or documentation formats. Hence, with the help of Miraheze, we have started our own wiki at wiki.gowashtenaw.org.
This wiki runs on MediaWiki, which is the same software behind Wikipedia. Anyone can add or edit pages, with or without an account (we moderate changes from new users or IPs). We’ve aim to make the wiki as easy to use as possible, so you don’t have to learn all the fancy MediaWiki markup syntax.
Alongside WaMI resources, we also plan to partner with other local organizations that fit within our mission and allow them to utilize the wiki as well. If you are a member or leader within a local organization or initiative, go ahead and create a page for your organization on the wiki!
To create a page, simply type in the URL you want that page to reside at. For example if I want to create a “blamo” page I just go to wiki.gowashtenaw.org/blamo and it will prompt me to create a page.
If you have an existing urbanism resource, or an idea for a resource, that needs a home on the internet, consider adding it to the WaMI Wiki!
